SALEM CHURCH A GRANT TO IMPROVE COMMUNITY HEALTH IN HUNTINGBURG.
The Welborn Baptist Foundation, Inc. has awarded Salem United Church of Christ a generous grant of $13,000 for the Get-WELL Huntingburg community health project for 2010.
The program will emphasize healthy lifestyles through a weight management and nutrition series, exercise classes, a health screening, fitness programs, and a support network for those who have lost their jobs. A core group of individuals will be invited to participate in a free year-long weight management program.
The program is coordinated by the Health Ministry Team at SalemChurch and will collaborate with area agencies beginning in January, 2010. The public is invited to attend the free programs! Watch for upcoming details or for more information, contact SalemChurch at 812-683-2213.
