"Let us go to Bethlehem...."  - Luke 2:15

Christmas time is a busy "on the go" time of community events, church activities, shopping, trips to the post office, dinners, finding decorations, seeing the lights and so much more.  It is a time when we see the special wonder of Christmas in the eyes, smiles, and faces of our children and grandchildren. When Jesus was born in Bethlehem it was also a busy time. There was a census taking place, the shepherds came, town was crowded, there were family reunions, and in the midst of all the busyness there were Jesus, Mary, and Joseph joyfully receiving visitors.

As Christmas 2007 comes, let us each go spiritually to Bethlehem to worship Jesus.  He is the reason for the season. Let us go to His birthday party everyday to rejoice in His first coming and excited about his second coming.

I would like to invite you to our Christmas weekend Sunday service on Dec. 23 at 10 a.m. EST and to our very special candlelight Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 9:30 p.m.. Everyone is invited and welcome!

While we are often "on the go", may we remember in prayer and with gifts of love those who are ill, shut-in, living in nursing homes, as well as those experiencing the loss of loved ones this year.

Let us remember those who are poor and struggling to make ends meet.  Let us pray for the peace that only God can give this troubled world. That peace is found in Jesus.

On behalf of the Salem Church family,  Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

God bless you.
